Elliot Farrell Biomechanical Engineer
Elliot Farrell – Biomechanical Engineer

We are pleased to welcome Elliot Farrell to OsteoWeld as our new Biomechanical Engineer. This is a critical role that will initially focus on the product design and development of our novel ultrasonic welding technology for surgical suture holding. This project will see him work closely with our academic partner on the company’s successful Innovate UK SMART award. Elliot recently completed his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Birmingham so he will heading back there this autumn albeit in a new capacity!

Elliot has already had medical device development and build experience, firstly at the University of Birmingham where he researched and developed a novel minimally invasive medical instrument and secondly during his industrial placement at BAE systems. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and critical need for PPE, he created the Farrell Face Shield which became a significant element of BAE system’s contribution to the NHS.
